Anteprima dal nuovo lavoro di ATŌMI in collaborazione con cinque diversi visual artist
Si chiama “ARMØNIA” ed è un progetto audio-visivo di 5 tracce e 5 video. La musica è stata composta da ATŌMI, mentre 5 artisti diversi hanno curato i video.
Il concept Ep è uscito il 17 settembre su Jikken Records, etichetta con sede a Tokyo.
Lo studio dei pianeti e l’interconnesione tra cosmo e vita umana
ATŌMI è il progetto di Lorenzo Setti, compositore e musicista italiano. Un passato da batterista che lo ha visto supportare band come i Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti e un primo approccio all’elettronica sotto lo pseudonimo 7he Alien con cui sonorizza diversi eventi e installazioni.
Le sue esperienze pregresse, soprattutto quelle connesse al mondo dell’audio-visivo, tornano per assumere nuova forma in ATŌMI. Un progetto ambizioso che nasce dalla curiosità per la musica e il suono, ma che si sposta anche in altre direzioni. Vi sono la scienza e gli scritti antichi dietro ad ARMØNIA, il primo di tre concept EP basati sull’utilizzo delle frequenze risonanti ricavate dalle orbite dei pianeti del sistema solare.
L’intento di ATŌMI è di dare nuova luce a temi che da sempre interessano e affascinano l’essere umano come l’interconnessione fra la vita umana e il cosmo. ARMØNIA è il primo passo di un “percorso ascensionale“, fortemente intriso di filosofia e simbolismi, in cui esperienza conscia e inconscia dialogano costantemente.
Suoni e immagini che dissipano la materia e trasportano in una dimensione onirica
Obiettivo di questo percorso è il superamento dei confini, a partire dall’abbattimento del limite tra suono e immagine. Le cinque tracce dell’EP sono concepite dialogando con cinque diversi visual artist. L’opera di ciascuno è una ri-elaborazione a se stante, ma profondamente interconnessa alle altre. Gli stili e le scelte estetiche, seppur diverse, si muovono nella direzione di saturare la dimensione materiale per condurre chi ascolta e osserva verso altre più elevate e quasi oniriche.
Anche la musica di ATŌMI contribuisce alla creazione di atmosfere rarefatte e stati emotivi sospesi. Le sonorità variano fra ambient, space, drone e glitch accompagnando l’ascoltatore in paesaggi eterei e decostruiti. Un esempio di come in ARMØNIA elementi musicali e sonori si incontrino egregiamente è la traccia Unveil che qui mostriamo in anteprima.

Il concept del video, diretto da Carlo Fanchini, è “la nascita in senso astratto. La traccia è suddivisa in due parti: potere e atto. Così come il seme porta in sé il potere della pianta e la pianta incarna l’atto dell’essere, la parola esprime il potere del pensiero.“

The first step of an artistic journey to new goals of human awareness
“ARMØNIA” is a five tracks audio+video project. The music was produced by the artist ATŌMI, the videos by five different visual artists.
The Concept EP was released on September 17 on the Tokyo based Jikken Records.
A journey from the orbits of the Solar System’s Planets to the human life
ATŌMI is the project of the Italian composer and musician Lorenzo Setti.
He had many experiences as a drummer and supported several bands playing across Europe and the USA. He also created installations in many events under the pseudonym of 7he Aliens.
His new project ATŌMI rests on his solid previous experiences but goes beyond new audio-visual boundaries.
This ambitious project originates from the curiosity for music and sound and still moves towards new directions. Science and ancient scriptures are the core of ARMØNIA. First of three forthcoming Eps, ARMØNIA is based on resonant frequencies taken from the orbits of the solar system.
The aim of ATŌMI is to enlighten the traditional human fascination for the interconnection between universe and human life.
ARMØNIA is the first step of an upward path. Philosophy and symbolisms are the keys of this travel where conscious and subconscious constantly talk.
A fluctuation between oneiric melodies and sound deconstruction
The whole EP is a journey beyond human boundaries where the limit between sound and image is overthrown. The five tracks of the EP were produced in a dialogue with five visual artists. Each video is separated but deeply connected with the others. Different stylistic and aesthetic choices were made. Though, the listener can find a common theme in the saturation of matter and substance while he/she is pushed towards higher and oneiric dimensions. The music of ATŌMI contributes to the creation of rarefied atmospheres and suspended emotional states.
Ambient, space, noise, drone and glitch sounds drive the listener to ethereal and deconstructed landscapes.
It is a big pleasure to preview the video of the track Unveil taken from the EP.
The video was directed by Carlo Fanchini. The main theme is the “birth”, in an abstract form. The track is divided in two: power and act.
As the seed carries in itself the power of plant and the plant embodies the act of being, the word embodies the power of thought.
